I Discovered my Feline Infant Abandoned on the Roadside one Day
|
Valia, from Greece, is a caring lady and animal lover, she has already cared for and fostered many homeless dogs.
One afternoon she found a baby kitten on the side of the road, he was just laying there in a little plastic pot, all alone under the burning summer sun.
Rescuing animals is an instinct to Valia, she knows these poor creatures need help and does her best to give them what they need.
So she scooped up the baby kitten and took him home to her house of 5 dogs and 2 cats – a very busy household!
He was very small and needed a lot of care and attention but she found time in her busy schedule to care for him.
Soon he was beginning to eat by himself and slowly began to explore the house.
Valia tried not to get too attached to him, but it was difficult as he was such a loving kitten and she felt he was really special.
The only thing left to do was to see how he got along with the rest of the family.
The dogs ignored him and the other cats hated him, she could see that he was lonely and her love wasn’t enough for him. What was she to do?
She decided to take him to the cattery: “I watched him play and be happy for the first time, I just knew that I was right all along. He was lonely, he needed something different that what I could offer him.”
“That day I felt like a new mum taking her kid to kindergarten for the first time. I was so nervous, but I left relieved.”
It had been noticed that little Rudi, Valia had now named him, was often trembling.
Another trip to the vet and this baby kitten was diagnosed with ataxia, a neurological issue that affects movement and coordination.
This made no difference to Valia, in fact, it made her love him even more.

Once the kitten is safe, it’s important to provide them with the care and attention they need to survive and thrive. This may involve providing them with food and water, as well as shelter and warmth. If the kitten is very young, it may be necessary to hand-feed them or provide them with a surrogate mother.
If you decide to keep the kitten, it’s important to provide them with the proper veterinary care, including vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and regular check-ups. Additionally, providing your kitten with a safe and comfortable living environment, plenty of toys and stimulation, and lots of love and attention can help them to thrive and grow into a healthy and happy adult cat.
Overall, finding a baby kitten on the side of the road can be a challenging experience, but with care and compassion, you can give them a second chance at life and provide them with a loving home.
